Positioning for Miracles: Aligning Your Life for a Breakthrough.

We all crave those moments in life that defy logic, those instances where the impossible becomes possible. Positioning for miracles might sound like something from a self-help seminar, but at its core, it's about aligning ourselves for the extraordinary work of God to break through. It’s less about forcing an outcome and more about fostering an environment where miracles are more likely to occur.

This is a journey of faith, perseverance, and a touch of the unexpected. It involves examining our actions, beliefs, and willingness to fully embrace the power of faith. As we explore the concept of positioning for miracles, let's understand there are no magic formulas - just heartfelt practices that draw us closer to Jesus Christ. This is where the importance of faith comes into play. It's about believing God's word and trusting in God's power through His son Jesus.

Embracing a Burden for God's Glory 1 Kings 18:41-46

When we speak of a “burden” in the context of faith, we’re not talking about a heavy weight dragging us down. It's more of a deep-seated longing. It's about passionately desiring to see God’s power and love manifested in our lives and the world around us.

Think about Moses, for instance. He saw the Israelites suffering in Egypt. This wasn’t just an observation for Moses – it was a burden. This deep, empathetic weight propelled him to confront Pharaoh and lead the Israelites to freedom, all the while witnessing breathtaking miracles, like the parting of the Red Sea.

Elijah had a burden to see God's people reject false idols and return to him. Because Elijah had this burden for the Glory of God, he experienced miracle after miracle from the fire of God striking the altar to the rains coming down from the heavens to water Israel. Elijah simply embraced the burden that he had to see the glory and power of God.

Making it Practical

What stirs your heart? Is it seeing healing in a loved one? Perhaps it’s experiencing a breakthrough in your own life, or maybe witnessing justice prevail where it seems impossible? That burning desire you have— that's the seed of a burden for God’s glory.

Start nurturing that desire. Spend time in prayer, not just presenting a wish list but aligning your heart with God’s heart for yourself and others. Meditate on Scripture; stories of miraculous interventions are woven throughout the Bible, reminding us that with the Almighty God, all things are possible. Each story can fuel our faith and remind us of the good news found in his love. These stories are a powerful eye opener.

Practical Steps for Positioning for Miracles

Positioning for miracles goes beyond merely wishing. Just as an athlete trains for a race, there are steps we can take to better position ourselves. It involves our actions and our mindset. This takes prioritizing spiritual growth. These are things we must do if we want to experience a miracle today.

1. Eliminating Compromises

Elijah never compromised, as soon as the glory of God was seen, the bible says Elijah executed the prophets of Baal. He was serious about being obedient to God. If you want to see God's glory, then you must eliminate sins that slows you down.

This isn’t about becoming morally perfect overnight. It's about allowing the Holy Spirit to identify areas in our lives that don't align with God's heart. Are there unresolved sins we've swept under the rug? Compromises we make, convincing ourselves “it's not that bad”?

Addressing those misalignments, seeking forgiveness and restoration is key. This might look like seeking forgiveness through prayer requests. Or maybe it's time to confront past actions. Either way, God chose you to walk a path that brings him glory.

2. Shifting Our Trust

People worshiping the stars.
Baal was thought to be the god of the rain, sun, stars and clouds. They turned to Baal for rain to no avail.

The Israelites trusted in Baal. Baal was thought to be a god of the sky. The people trusted in Baal because they thought he would send the rain to grow their crops. The People refused to shift their trust in God.

This is the reason God pronounced a drought in land. Elijah knew that Baal was a false god. He placed his faith and trust in the only True God of Israel. Elijah trusted God and experienced the glory of God.

So often, we place our hope and faith in things that ultimately let us down— careers, finances, relationships. We might pray for a financial breakthrough yet find ourselves consumed with worry, constantly checking our bank account balance instead of placing our trust in God’s provision.

God doesn't always provide perfect returns or a money-back guarantee. But he does offer something far greater: his unwavering presence.

It's about remembering that God isn't limited by what seems logically possible.

Shifting our trust back to the One who holds the universe in His hands is positioning for miracles to happen. When you love God, you begin to trust his timing and plan for your life. Just as a dormant seed needs time to sprout, so too do miracles require patience and faith.

3. Embracing the Power of Endurance

Persevere in Your Prayers. Don't allow anything to derail your faith.

Imagine Elijah's servant getting tired of going up the mountain—six times he reported back, “Still no rain.” Yet, Elijah persisted. He didn't allow discouragement to derail his faith. In a world that often celebrates instant gratification, we need that same spirit.

The Importance of Faith

It’s one thing to pray for a miracle; it’s another thing altogether to live as if you believe it will come to pass. Positioning for miracles requires faith that can withstand disappointment and persevere in the face of setbacks. Don't just sit idly by; actively pursue od's plan for your life.

Recognizing Idols

What consumes our thoughts? What are we prioritizing over time spent in prayer, in scripture, and in communion with God? Anything that takes precedence over our relationship with the Creator has the potential to become an idol in our lives. This isn't always about physical objects; it’s often subtler - careers, possessions, even relationships can take God's rightful place in our hearts if we let them.

Aligning our hearts back to God is paramount in positioning for miracles. Just as a farmer prepares the soil before planting a seed, so too must we cultivate hearts that are receptive to God’s grace and power. Let go of what's holding you back and make space for the greatest miracle of all: a heart fully surrendered to father god.

Conclusion

Positioning for miracles begins with recognizing we’re not meant to merely exist in this world - we are created for extraordinary purpose. By surrendering to God’s will and placing trust in His timing and power, we make room for divine intervention in our lives.

Ultimately, positioning for miracles is an act of radical faith and bold anticipation of the incredible ways God can and does work in and through us if we simply make room for the possibility. So, open your heart, deepen your faith, and prepare to be amazed by the miraculous power of god that surrounds you each day. It's time to stop merely existing and start truly living in the fullness of his love.
